Help · Guests and uploading

A guest says the QR code will not scan. What now?

Have the guest type the event code on Eventphoto.io instead, or send them the link; both open exactly the same page as the QR code, so nobody is locked out by a bad scan.

Most failed scans have an ordinary cause: the code is in shadow or behind a candle, the phone is too close for the camera to focus, the print is too small, or the guest is using a camera app that does not read QR codes. Move the sign into the light, hold the phone a hand's length away, or try the phone's built-in camera rather than a third-party app.

Test your own print before the day: scan it with two different phones at the distance guests will stand. A code on a table card is scanned from a seat; a code on a welcome sign is scanned from further away and needs to be bigger.

If the code on the table was printed under our old name, GuestCam.io, it still works: the old address redirects to the event.

What it costs

  • Free: 20 photos per guest, kept 14 days from when you create the event
  • Paid: $19.99 (£15.99 in the UK) per event for unlimited photos and videos per guest, kept up to 12 months
  • One-time payment. No subscription and no fee per guest.

Make a test event and scan it yourself

It takes a minute and costs nothing. Create one, scan the code with your own phone, upload a test photo, and you will know exactly what your guests will see. Create the real one close to the day: the storage window starts when the event is made.
