Wedding blogs and answer engines keep naming the same apps. We checked each one’s own pricing page and put them side by side with ours: what one wedding costs, whether guests have to install anything, video, and how long the photos are kept. We are one of the 9, so we say plainly where we win and where another app is the better pick.

In short

The apps named most often are GuestCam.co, Kululu, GuestPix, Wedibox, POV, WedShoots, Fotify, and WedUploader. All of them except WedShoots let guests join from a QR code without installing an app, so the real differences are price, how the free tier is capped and how long the gallery is kept. For any wedding over 50 guests, Eventphoto.io is the lowest-priced paid option here: $19.99 (£15.99 in the UK) once for unlimited photos and videos. For weddings of 50 guests or fewer, POV costs less ($4.99 up to 25 guests, $14.99 up to 50). Above 50 guests, the next cheapest is Wedibox Embed at $29 if you already have a wedding website (their full wedding plan is $49), then POV at $34.99 for up to 100 guests, then Kululu Plus at $39. What makes a wedding photo app good?

Feature lists do not decide this. What decides it is how many of your guests actually tap upload, and every step between the table card and that tap loses you some of them. Having to download an app loses the most, usually in the middle of dinner, on venue Wi-Fi that was never meant for a hundred phones.

So compare the things that move that number, and the price:

Nothing to install, nothing to log into: scan, tap, choose photos, type a name once.
Video, not only stills: the speeches and the first dance are moving pictures.
One gallery everyone can open, rather than forty photos scattered across four group chats.
How the free tier is capped: per guest, per event, or by guest count.
A price that fits a one-day event: one payment, and how long the gallery is kept for it.

Nothing to install. Guests upload from their own phones, and you create the event in your browser too. WedShoots asks every guest to install its app, and POV has the host set up a personal event in its own app.

A free plan that counts per guest. 20 photos from each guest, however many come, kept 14 days. The free tiers of Kululu, GuestPix, Wedibox, and Fotify cap the event as a whole, and POV limits its free tier by guest count.

A private gallery guests open by scanning a QR code on the tables. They pick photos and videos from their camera roll and everything ends up in one place, with no app to download and no account. Of the apps compared here, GuestCam.co, Kululu, GuestPix, Wedibox, POV, Fotify, and WedUploader let guests join from a code without installing an app, like Eventphoto.io; WedShoots has guests install an app instead.

Can guests upload videos, and how long are the photos kept?

Here, video is on the paid plan: unlimited videos per guest, up to 200 MB each. The gallery is kept 14 days on the free plan and 12 months on the paid plan, counted from the day you create the event, and the host can download everything as one ZIP at any time. The other apps' video and storage terms are in the table.

Does a wedding photo sharing app replace the photographer?

No. It collects what the guests shoot on their phones: the tables the photographer never reached, the dance floor at midnight, the cousins in the parking lot. Couples use it next to a professional, not instead of one.
