How long do guests have to upload photos after the wedding?
From 24 hours (Kululu’s free plan) to two years (Wedibox All-In-One, two-year edition), depending on the service and the plan, on the vendor pages we checked in October 2026; one service sets no end at all, because the files land in your own Google Drive. On Eventphoto.io guests can upload for as long as the event exists: 14 days from the day you create it on the free plan, 12 months from the day you upgrade on the paid plan ($19.99 (£15.99 in the UK), once). The QR code itself never expires or changes; it is the event behind it that closes, and uploads and storage end on the same day. Below, how five other services set the window, with the page each number was read from.
What it costs
- Free: 20 photos per guest, kept 14 days from when you create the event
- Paid: $19.99 (£15.99 in the UK) per event for unlimited photos and videos per guest, kept up to 12 months
- One-time payment. No subscription and no fee per guest.
Does the QR code expire?
No. The code is a web address drawn as squares, and the address of your event never changes: not when you upgrade, not when you rename the event, not when the first photos arrive. What ends is the event the address points at. While it is alive, a scan opens the gallery with the upload button; after the end date, a scan opens a short page saying the event may have expired.
How long does each service keep uploads open?
Our row comes from our plan; the five others from each company’s own help center, pricing or product page, read in October 2026 and listed below the table. Windows change, so check the linked page before you rely on a cell.
| Service | Guests can upload for | Gallery stays online | The clock starts | Extending |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Eventphoto.io | Free: 14 days. Paid: 12 months | The same 14 days or 12 months: uploads and storage end on the same day | Free: the day you create the event. Paid: the day you upgrade | The upgrade: 12 months from the day you pay, same code |
| Kululu | “Active time”: Free 24 hours, Plus 30 days, Pro 3 months; once it ends, no more uploads can be made | Access to the photos and videos: Free 7 days, Plus 90 days, Pro 1 year; after that they are no longer accessible | When the event is marked as started and guests actively begin uploading | Not described on the pages we read |
| GuestCam.coNot us: a different company | Standard: 6-month upload window; Premium: 12-month upload window | Standard: 12-month storage; Premium: 14-month storage | On the wedding date, not the purchase date | Not described on the pages we read |
| GuestPix | Free plan 30 days; smaller entry-level packages 3 months; most paid packages 12 months | On most paid packages the ZIP download is available any time within 12 months of the event date | From the event date on most packages | Not described on the pages we read |
| Wedibox | Wedding 6 months, All-In-One 1 year; the two-year editions give 1 year (Wedding) and 2 years (All-In-One). Embed (the gallery for your own website) 3 months | Wedding 1 year, All-In-One 2 years (two-year editions: 2 and 5 years); after storage ends the gallery is archived, not deleted | On the activation date (the event day you choose), not the day you pay | A one-time payment adds three more months of uploading, counted from the day you extend; paid events only |
| WedUploader | Albums “never expire”: guests upload straight into the couple’s own Google Drive | The couple’s Google Drive; WedUploader points to the 15 GB a free Google account includes | No window to start: the album stays open | Not described on the pages we read |

One pattern stands out: most services run two clocks, a shorter one for uploading and a longer one for looking and downloading, and the two can be far apart: Kululu’s free plan takes uploads for a day and shows them for a week. Here there is one clock, it starts on a day you can see, and uploads stay open for the whole of it. The prices of the same services are on the cost page.
When does the clock start?
On Eventphoto.io a free event’s 14 days start the moment you create it, not on the wedding date, and a paid event’s 12 months start the day you upgrade; the exact end date is shown as soon as the event exists. So a free event is something you make in the week of the wedding, because an event made two months ahead has expired before anyone scans the code. If the stationery goes to print early, create the event then and upgrade it, and the 12 months begin on that day with the same code on the cards. Elsewhere the start is a different day: GuestCam.co and GuestPix count from the wedding or event date, Wedibox from the activation date you pick, Kululu from when guests begin uploading. Each needs reading before you print.
What happens when the window ends?
Uploads stop. A guest who scans after the end date sees a page saying the event may have expired, not the gallery. On either plan the end date is also the end of the gallery: the event and its photos are deleted, and that cannot be undone. The way never to worry about it is the one-ZIP download from your host link, which works on the free plan too; do it in the week after the wedding. On the paid plan the end date is 12 months out, and the same download is there the whole time. Your host page shows the date; download before it.
How do you collect the late photos?
The window is calendar time, not party time: a guest uploads from the sofa on Sunday as easily as from the table on Saturday. Ask once more the morning after, with the event link rather than the QR code, because a link in a message is tapped and a photo of a QR code is not; the wording is on how to ask guests to share their photos. For a wedding where guests fly home, 14 free days are short, and that is the honest case for the paid plan: 12 months covers the honeymoon, the thank-you cards and the uncle who finds his photos in the spring.
Can you extend the window?
Here the upgrade is the extension. One payment of $19.99 (£15.99 in the UK) turns a free event into a paid one with 12 months counted from that day, unlimited photos and videos per guest, video files up to 200 MB, the digital guest book and the sign designer. The photos already uploaded stay, the code stays, and nothing is reprinted. Do it before the free event expires, because an expired free event is gone; a paid event is not upgraded a second time, so its end date is the one your host page shows. Of the five services in the table, Wedibox is the one that sells an extension on its own, a one-time payment for three more months of uploading counted from the day you extend; the others set the window by plan on the pages we read, so more time means the bigger plan. One of them in full is on the Kululu alternative page; the plans and prices are on pricing.
Upload window questions, answered
Does the wedding QR code expire?
The code never expires or changes; it is the address of your event. The event behind it has an end date, 14 days from creation on the free plan and 12 months from the upgrade on the paid plan, after which a scan shows a "page not found" screen saying the event may have expired, instead of the gallery.
Can guests still upload a month after the wedding?
On the paid plan, yes, for 12 months from the upgrade, from home as easily as from the venue. On the free plan only inside its 14 days. If photos are still arriving as a free event nears its end, upgrade it: the clock restarts at 12 months, the photos stay, and the code on the signs is the same.
What happens to the photos when a free event expires?
The event is deleted together with its photos, and that cannot be undone; the expiry date is shown the moment you create the event. Download the ZIP from your host link in the week after the wedding (the bulk download works on the free plan), or upgrade before the date.
When should I create the event?
A free event in the week of the wedding, because its 14 days count from creation, not from the wedding date. If the signs go to print earlier, create the event then and upgrade it for $19.99 (£15.99 in the UK): 12 months from the upgrade, no subscription.
Do uploads and storage end on the same day?
Here, yes: for as long as the gallery exists, guests can add to it. Several other services run two clocks, a shorter one for uploading and a longer one for viewing and downloading; on the pages we checked in October 2026, Kululu, GuestCam.co and Wedibox each describe an upload period that ends before the storage period.
