14 days on the free plan, counted from the day the event is created, and 12 months on the paid plan, counted from the upgrade; the exact date is shown when you create the event and in the dashboard.
Uploads and viewing end on the same day: guests can add photos until the event expires, not only on the day of the party, and the gallery stays open for the whole window. When the window closes, the event page stops opening and, the day after, the photos, videos, guest-book entries and the ZIP are deleted. That deletion is permanent on both plans.
So download before the end. The ZIP is free on both plans and is emailed to the host address usually within minutes of asking, and a reminder email goes to the same address before the event expires; for a free event it carries an upgrade button.
Upgrading sets the expiry to 12 months from that moment, or leaves it alone if the event already runs longer than that, so a free event upgraded on its last day still gets the full 12 months. Nothing extends an event beyond its window except an upgrade; there is no paid extension of a paid event.
