A guest can edit their own typed message from the same phone and browser they wrote it on, with the edit button next to it; deleting a message, and removing a video greeting, is for the host to do.
The page recognizes a guest's own message by the browser session, not by the name, so nobody can edit another guest's words, and a guest who comes back on a different phone or after clearing the browser can no longer edit theirs. An edit saves over the original; there is no history and no approval step.
A video greeting cannot be changed once it is sent; a guest who wants another go asks the host to delete the first one and records again. The same goes for a typed message a guest wants gone: the host removes it with the trash icon next to the message, and it disappears for everyone.
Editing works while the event is open; once it has expired, the event page no longer opens for anyone, and the guest book is deleted with the event the day after, so copy out the messages you want to keep before then. On the free plan there is nothing to edit: the guest book is part of the paid plan, $19.99 (£15.99 in the UK) once for the whole event.
